Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of MMP-2,TIMP-2 and NF-κB p65 in papillary thyroid carcinoma. Methods The expression of MMP-2,TIMP-2 and NF-κB in 157 cases of papillary thyroid cancer and 30 cases of papillary thyroid tumors and 30 cases of thyroid tissue were detected by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization, and the data were analyzed by χ2 test. Results The expression of MMP-2 protease and NF-κB p65 protein and mRNA in papillary thyroid cancer and benign tumors was significantly higher than that of thyroid tissue(P0.01),And in papillary thyroid carcinoma with the tumor grade increased significantly increased(P0.01);there was a positive correlation. And the expression in cervical lymph node metastasis was higher than those without metastasis(P0.01).And the expression of TIMP-2 protein and mRNA was contrast with MMP-2,there was a negative correlation. Conclusion There were different degrees of abnormal expression of MMP-2,TIMP-2 and NF-κB p65 protein and mRNA in thyroid benign and malignant tumors and normal thyroid tissue, they can be used as markers to determine the biological behavior of thyroid tumors and the prognosis of patients. They may have synergistic effects and relation with tumor invasion and metastasis. They have important clinical value.
