Abstract

Objective To improve on the surgical techniques in the rat model of orthotopic liver transplantation. Methods Modified Kamada's cuff technique was used in the establishment of rat orthotopic liver transplantation model. After operation, postoperative survival time and survival rate of the rats were evaluated. Results Of the 96 rats with orthotopic liver transplantation,83 survived more than 7 days and 2 longer than 100 days. Conclusion With extreme patience and carefulness, the operator can perform the model successfully on the condition of shortened anhepatic phase after mastering stable and skillful surgical techniques.
