Proper grass species in building lawn in the southern Fujian and techniques of maintenance

The growth characteristics and application of five grasses, Zoysia matrella, Z.tenuifolia, Cynodon dactylon, Eremochloa ophiuroides and Axonopus compressus, which used to build lawn in the southern Fujian are described. The problems of building lawn, i.e. simple grass species, extensive preparation before planting, neglect of maintenance, are pointed out and the techniques of planting, including spread-planting, scattered planting, seed sowing, and its maintenance are also proposed.
