Abstract

Objective To evaluate the periodontal implication with three types retainers.Methods Thirty cases were divided into three groups,and three types of retainers were used.A follow-up periodontal examination was carried out in three,six months later.The periodontal condition was scored according to three parameters:GI,SBI,PLI.Result Hawley retainer showed no statistic difference.The multistrand stainless showed statistic difference significantly.The parameter PLI of fiber-reinforced composite was significant.Conclusion The Hawley retainer has little effect on periodontal,the multistrand stainless wire retainer has most.Fiber-reinforced composite was easy for retain.
