Abstract
The area of clonal seed orchard(CSO) of Abies fabric was 4.98 hm~2,containing 63 clones,and the ramets within clones ranged from 3~101.The average height,breast diameter and crown size of 63 clones in CSO for 20 years were 8.04 m to 12.27 m,15.32 cm to 26.45 cm and 4.05 m to 7.02 m respectively.The variance analysis for growth traits of 63 clones showed that there were significantly differences among clones and inconspicuousness within clones in average height,breast diameter and crown size.There were 19 clones whose ramets were over 30 in CSO.The average height,breast diameter and crown size of 19 clones were 10.26 m±2.54(ranged from 5.69 m to 14.35 m),18.62 cm±5.21(ranged from 11.20 cm to 32.57 cm) and 4.95 m±0.82(ranged from 2.76 m to 6.39 m).The variance analysis for growth traits of 19 clones indicated that there were significantly differences among clones and inconspicuousness within clones in average height,breast diameter and crown size.The multicomparison and order arrangement of their main growth traits were also carried out,thus laying the foundations for studying the relationships between vegetative growth and sex growth of clones.The positive correlation was found between breast diameter and height of clones.The variation of the average for main growth traits within clones was greatly smaller than that among clones,which demonstrated that growth traits was mainly controlled by genetics.No cone-bearing cause and next management avenues for this CSO were also discussed in this paper.
