Abstract

To sum up XU Shan's academic ideology and clinical experience on treating chronic gastritis by freeing qi movement.Qi failing to descend is an important etiology and pathomechanism of chronic gastritis.The treatment for chronic gastritis usually focuses on aspects of qi stagnation,qi reversed flow,qi deficiency,and qi sinking.The Chinese medicinals administrated are often a combination of acrid ones for opening and bitter ones for promoting descent to free qi movement,remove turbidity and harmonize the stomach.
