Effect of Decling Sodium Profile on Dialysis Hypotension in Hemodialysis

Abstract

Objective:To study the effect of sodium profile on dialysis hypotension.Methods:14 stable patients on maintenance hemodialysis were studied.7 patients of 14 studied received hemodialysis according to the order as standard hemodialysis(SHD,dialysate=140mmol/L),sodium profile hemodialysis(PHD,dialysatedecreased from 148mmol/L to 138mmol/L by stages)for 2 weeks respectively,and the other 7 patients accepted hemodialysis as PHD,SHD for 2 weeks respectively.Blood sodium concentraton and blood volume change were examined before and after dialysis.Heart rate and dialysis hyptension have been observed.Results:sodium profile hemodialysis could decrease the episodes of hypotension(P0.05).The blood sodium concentration after hemodialysis was not significantly changed compared with before hemodialysis(P0.05).The SHD group was great difference in blood volume decrease than PHD group(P0.05).Conclusion:SHD can prevent the occurrence of dialysis hypotension effectively and do not increase body weight during dialysis.
