Abstract
Fast start-up of anaerobic ammonium oxidation( ANAMMOX) / UASB reactor was investigated by inoculating the nitrifying sludge and a little Anammox sludge. The reactor was fed with the synthetic wastewaters and successfully started up by controlling p H value at 7.0 to 7.6 and at( 30 ± 1)℃ after 47 d.On the 123 rd day,TN volumetric loading rate and removal loading rate were 4.29 kg /( m3·d) and 3.72 kg /( m3·d) respectively. The removal rates of TN,ammonia nitrogen and nitrite nitrogen were 86.8%,94.3% and 97% respectively. The p H value and conductivity were simple indicators for the performance of the reactor.Scanning electron microscopy showed that granular sludge had loose structure and was covered with filamentous bacteria. Also, there were spherical bacteria distributed on the surface.
