Abstract
An up-flow anaerobic packed-bed reactor with effective volume of 88.7 L was adopted to start up the ANAMMOX process. The results showed that, after 119 days operation, the NH4+-N and NO2——N removal efficiency increased to 100% and 97.40%,respectively,while the TN removal efficiency was 91.71%.The ratio among the three types of nitrogen-contained substance,ρ(NH4+-N) : ρ(NO2——N) : ρ(NO3——N)was 1 : 1.35 : 0.28.Then,the HRT was decreased to increase the loading rate of the reactor from 35.5 h to 15.2 h.At the end of the operation, the loading rate of TN was 0.10 kg/(m3·d),and brown sludge with ANAMMOX character was obtained.
