Abstract
The author analyzes the situation of mineral resourceexploration and exploitation in the last ten years. The paper also discusses the situation of geological prospecting based on the major targets, such as the potential of geological prospecting, investment for exploration and drilling effort, the transfer of mineral prospecting rights, and newly discovered mineral fi eld; it analyzes the mining development trend in terms of mining economic structure, integrated utilization, and the protection of preponderant mineral resources. Finally, the author offers some suggestions for promoting sustainable development of mineral exploration and exploitation: Continually improving policies and measures to encourage mineral exploration; strengthening macro-management of mineral development.
