Abstract
By taking correlative experience at home and abroad for reference,an index system is established according to the factors such as the overall scale, central city scale, general city scale and interregional connection,to delimitate the range of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan city-and-town concentrated area,(or Chang-Zhu-Tan area for short).17 cities or counties, including Changsha,Zhuzhou,Xiangtan,Yueyang,Yiyang and so on,are listed in the range of the area.At present, some problems exist in the development of the area, for example, the estrangemen among the cities and towns, the rise of local protectionism, the isomorphism of the industrial structures, the reduplicative construction, the administrative restraint and the out-of-order competition. Some suggestions are proposed to integrate the area: to adjust the administrative regions,to harmonize the planning system,to conform the economic space, and to improve the infrastructure.
