Abstract
The cationic starch was prepared via the reaction of starch with 3-chlorine-2-hydroxypropyl chloride(CTA) as cationic etherifying agent by wet-process.The effects of pH value, the amount of flocculant, the flocculation time and the temperature on the flocculation efficiency of the products for the wastewater containing Mn(Ⅶ) were investigated. The optimal flocculation conditions of cationic starch for the wastewater containing Mn(Ⅶ) were as follows:pH was 5-6,the amount of flocculant was 0.4 g,the flocculation time was 2.0 h,and the flocculation temperature was 40 ℃.At those conditions, the flocculation efficiency of the products for the wastewater containing Mn(Ⅶ) was up to 90.2%.
