In the late Roman Empire,Christianity became the dominant culture of the Roman society,and under its impact the marriage law changed: bachelorism was lawful,Concubinage was unlawful, the marriage restriction between freed women and slaves became loosened, and there were more strict regulations concerning divorce and remarriage.
