On the Significant Contributions of Duke Zhou Gong in Maintaining the West Zhou Regime

Duke Zhou Gong was the fourth son of King Wen Wang (Ji Chan). Smart as a boy, versatile and filial when he grown up, Duke Zhou Gong helped his father handle administrative affairs or plan military operations. After King Wu Wang came into reign, he acted as a senior minister to assist the king to overthrow the Shang Dynasty. After King Wu Wang died, Zhou Gong assisted the new king in stabilizing the political situation, which made it possible to get the kingdom united and consolidated. When this was successful, he return the power to the young king, for which he became a model for future generations of ministers.
