Abstract

Li Zhi,the thinker of Ming Dynasty,underwent an almost melodramatic life and his life and career created his noble personality.Li Zhi's SHUOSHU in two volumes are representative of his eight-part essays,which are valuable literature and play an important role in the history of eight-part essays.Li Zhi's eight-part essays have four characteristics: 1) stuck to the Confucian tradition but not blindly faith to the Saint words;2) persisted in seeking for truth so as to build ideological basis;3) equated the eight-part essay with literary works and made eight-part essays passionate;4) guaranteed his eight-part essays vigorous with pure soul.
