Abstract
The hump weir is a kind of low weir with a compound circle curve section. It is easy and simple for design and construction and suitable for weak foundation. Its overall stability and sectional stress are good. A bigger flow coefficient can be obtained and thus the discharge capacity can be increased and investment reduced. The design of the Sanyuan reservoir spillway tried this kind of weir with satisfactory results.
