Abstract

Technical barriers to trade (TBT) is the hot issue in the field of International trade.In this paper, we review the new progress of studies to the TBT since the mid-20th centry,90,the results show that the basic properties of TBT in reality are still an important means of trade protectionism, its development and implementation not only result in trade distortion and thus reduce social welfare, but also technical standards difficult to coordinate bilateral and multilateral, which can easily lead to international trade conflicts.
