A Study of Zhang Chao and His Short Essay

Abstract

Zhang Chao was a famous writer,dramatist,block-printer and thinker in the early of Qing Dynasty.He has written many works,and his works are still of great influence today.He wrote short stories in classical Chinese which were collected in the book of YU Chu Xin Zhi that had exerted great influence on the late publishing editor circles.He was a writer with achievements in many aspects but little attention.The present thesis only carries on the simple discussion about him and his achievement in short essay,and hopes to be of benefit in the intensive study for Zhang Chao.
