Contrastive Genre Analysis of English and Chinese Social Science Research Article Introductions

Genre Analysis is an important theory of text linguistics,which combines socio-cultural,psychological elements and communicative purposes in underlying the text schematic structure.The present study reports the analyses and discussions of generic structures between the English and Chinese social science research article Introductions by Swales' CARS modal.The results show that both moves basically conform to the modal and significant differences in the steps are also revealed.The findings of the study can throw some light on research article introduction writing.
