Abstract
Heparan sulphate proteoglycans(HSPG) are major components of the extracellular matrix of the cell-surface membrane and play a key role in the self-assembly and integrity of the extracellular matrix multi-molecular architecture.Heparanase,as an endo-β-glucuronidase enzyme that specifically degrades HSPG,is closely associated with ovarian cancer metastasis and invasion. This review describes the current knowledge about heparanase, focusing on its expression, regulation and implication in ovarian cancer metastasis and angiogenesis.
