Abstract

With different spike types of rice varieties as materials, the field experiments on the effects of fertilizer and irrigation on cooking quality were carried out. The results showed that effects of fertilizer and irrigation on different varieties were unequal. The sequence was erect spike type cultivars and semi-erect spike cultivarshybrid cultivars and bent cultivars. Increasing N rates decreased chalkiness, and the effect of nitrogen treatment on chalkiness was greater than irrigation treatment. The results of fertilizer and water management on chalkiness percentage of different varieties were various, the difference of chalkiness percentage was noted responding to N management, and coupling existed between fertilizer and water treatment. Chalkiness percentage of shennong 8801 under the treatment of medium fertilizer and water saving irrigation was minimum, but aoyu 316 was opposite and that of liaoyou 18 under the treatment of medium fertilizer and normal water was maximum.
