Abstract
Objective To observe the efficacy of simethicone combined with mosapride on the treatment for functional dyspepsia. Methods One hundred and sixteen patients with functional dyspepsia were divided into two groups randomly. The simethicone combined with mosapride group were received simethicone 80 mg, po, tid, and mosapride 5 mg,po, tid. The mosapride group were received mosapride 5 mg, po, tid.The course of treatment was 4 weeks. Changes on symptom score and side effects were included as outcomes. Results The total efficacy rate of simethicone combined with mosapride group was 89.1%, which was significantly higher than that of the mosapride group(The total efficacy rate was 75.9%), (P0.05). The simethicone combined with mosapride group seemed to be more effective in improving sympotom of quickly feeling 'full' after eating than that in the mosapride group (P0. 01). After treatment, no significant side effects were found. Conclusion The simethicone combined with mosapride is an effective and safe treatment for patients with functional dyspepsia.
