Abstract

A new microwave digestion-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS) method was established to detect 16 rare earth elements in soil samples.Samples were digested by nitric acid-hydrogen peroxide-hydrofluoric acid,and then tested directly using ICP-MS.The interferences by Ba at ng/mL level and light rare earth element oxides on detection of heavy rare earth elements were studied.The results indicated that the interference by Ba and Pr oxides were more serious than by other elements,however,such interference can be corrected using Method editorial interference equation.Standard soil material GBW07446 and GBW07451 were analyzed and the results are consistent with the certified values.
