Abstract

Inclusion body production is a common theme in recombinant protein technology in E.coli.Hence, refolding of these inclusion body proteins is a field of increasing interest for gaining large amounts of active proteins.Recent developments of refolding procedures including the inhibition of aggregation during refolding by the application of low molecular weight additives, reverse micelles, artificial chaperone, chromatographic refolding techniques, determination methods and the mechanism of protein refolding in vitro were reviewed in this paper.
