Liang Qichao's view of culture in his later years, represented by Records of Travels in Eorupe , was philosophically subjective idealism. His application of bourgeoisie viewpoint and method to the research in traditional Chinese culture had positive significances, but his attempt to save Western civilization with traditional Chinese culture produced negative effects as it in fact resisted the spreading of Marxism in China.
