Abstract
Objective To study the effect of total parenteral nutrition with Glutamine Dipeptide on infection prevention and protein synthesis in patients with early postoperative inflammatory small intestinal obstruction. Methods Patients treated with Glutamine Dipeptide were compared with those treated without Glutamine Dipeptide (as control). Results Compared with control, levels of plasma-albumin and prealbumin in patients treated with glutamine were significantly higher (P0.05),the incidence rate of infection in patients treated with Glutamine Dipeptide was significantly lower (P0.05).Conclusion Parenteral nutrition with Glutamine Dipeptide can significantly increase protein synthesis in patients with early inflammatory intestinal obstruction and decrease the incidence rate of infection.
