Abstract

t:Objective To evaluate t h e clinical application of spring core biopsy needle under CT guidance for percut aneous liver biopsy.?Methods 18 cases of percutaneous li ver biopsy were performed using spring-core biopsy needle under CT guidance Wh en the needle reached the desired site, a tissue specimen was taken. Biopsy of r ight lobe was performed in 12 cases, left lobe in 5 and caudate lobe in 1. The l esions varied in size from 2~14 cm in diameter.?Results The successful rate of puncture was 100%. Pathologic diagnosis was obtained in 17 of 18 cases (94.4%), including 11 cases of hepatocelluilar carcinoma, 5 meta static adenocarcinoma and 1 focal nodular hyperplasia. One case of subcapsular hemorrhage and one case of hepatalgia were encountered after puncture.?Conclusion Percutaneous liver biopsy under CT guidance with spri ng-core biopsy needle is a simple, safe and accurate method for diagnosis and di fferential diagnosis of liver disease.
