On Translation-oriented Literary Studies

To a translator of literary works,literary study is an indispensable part of his efforts.Under a hermeneutic perspective,this paper reveals the must of literary studies on the basis of due respect for the writer's intention by pointing out that literary studies can markedly shrink the gap between the translator and writer.Translotion-oriented literary studies,in the source language world focus on a reasonable use of various critical approaches to literature,while in the target language world highlight an enhancement of the translator's literary and language attainments so as to best secure the conveyance of the spirit in the translation process.
