A case of pulmonary alveolar proteinosis treated by whole lung lavage and and review of the related litertature

Objective To explore the diagnosis and therapy of pulmonary alveolar proteinosis(PAP).Methods To summary a case of PAP and review the related articles.Results The incidence of PAP was increasing in latest years.The disease was characterized with ongoing dyspnea and typical CT,while the diagnosis was still relied on PAS staining of alveolar lavage and tissue biopsy.At present,the most efficient therapy was whole lung.Results The clinical feature of PAP is untypical,so the suspected case should undergo bronchial lavage staining and lung biopsy.The whole lung lavage is more effective and acceptable than bronchoalveolar lavage.
