Abstract
We point out the problems in the aspects of flood control, bank utilization and river regime stability on the basis of recent river evolution analysis on Xinjizhou Reach of the Yangtze River at Nanjing City according to the present situation and economic development demand along the reach. We use mathematical model and physical model to compare, select and optimize two regulation schemes. And the feasible regulation scheme is proposed so as to benefit the regime stability and flood control of the reach and downstream reaches.
