MSCT analysis of ovarian cystic tumor

Objective To explore the imaging features and diagnostic value of cystic tumor.Methods The CT features in 28 cases of cystic tumors(30 lesions) proven by surgery and pathology were studied retrospectively.All of the cases underwent CT scan and 26 cases underwent contrast-enhancement CT scan.Results The lesions included cystadenoma in 10 cases(serous cystadenoma in 7 cases,mucinous cystadenoma in 3 cases),cystic teratoma in 3 cases,cystadenocarcinoma in 8 cases(serous cystadenocarcinoma in 3 cases,mucinous cystadenocarcinoma in 5 cases),yolk sac tumor in 4 cases,krukenberg in 1 case,ovary clear cell carcinoma in 2 cases.Various tumors with its natures(benign or malignant) had a corresponding characteristic CT findings.Compared with surgery or pathology findings,25 of 28 cases(85.7%) were accurately diagnosed while other 3 cases(14.3%) were misdiagnosed,27 cases(96.4%) were correctly localized while other 1 case(3.5%) were erroneously localized.Conclusion There are some characteristics in the CT appearance of cystic tumors,and these characteristics may be helpful in predicting a specific for cystic tumors.
