The CT Diagnosis of Ovarian Cystadenoma and Cystadenocarcinoma

Objective To discuss the CT diagnostic value in the cystadenoma and cystadenocarcinoma of the ovary.Materials and Methods CT features of 13 cases with histologically proven epithelial tumors of the ovary were retrospectively reviewed.Results 7 cases were serous cystadenoma, 4 cases were mucinous cystaenoma, 2 cases were cystadenocarcinoma and papillary cystadenocarcinoma. respectively. The CT findings of cystadenoma were thin wall with uniocular or multicular, lacks of the mural nodule. The cystadenocarcinoma findings were thick, irregular wall with thick septa, mural nodule, and soft tissue component. The CT diagnosis were made correctly in 11 cases (84.6%); misdiagnosis in 2 cases (15.4%).Conclusion CT is a useful technique and has an important clinical vlaue in diagnosis and differential diagnosis of ovarian cystadenoma and cystadenocarcinoma.
