On Human Nature through the Analysis of Personality——Interpretation of "Young Goodman Brown"

Abstract

American novelist Nathaniel Hawthorne was good at analyzing human psyche,so his novels are considered to be the modern-sense psychological novels.In his famous short story Young Goodman Brown,the characterization is closely related to Freud's psycho-analytical theory.By analyzing the conflict and harmony among personalities,Hawthorne's understanding of human nature is exposed.
