Abstract
Sensus communisis one of the four basic concepts of western humanism which Gadamer thought highly of.It includes two meanings, one is common senseand the other is general knowledge. This concept is closely related with the other three:enlightenment, judgment and interest. It acts as a medium and bridge among them, and constitutes the truth of human science and the foundation of hermeneutics together with the other three ones.Gadamer not only absorbed the predecessors' achievements in this regard, but also brought in a new perspective, which made it full of profound humanistic connotation and significance of hermeneutics.
