Abstract

Compared with works of other topics in Tang Dynasty, dream-novels' narration time is special in that the author must deal with the coexistence and separation of two time-systems of reality and dreams.The handling of narrative time attaches unique fun and implication to Tang dream-novels.With illusion between dream and time,these novels not only reflect Tang scholars' strong desire to break away from established social values but also demonstrate their reconsideration about new vision and meaning of their lives.
