Abstract

As literary chief at the turn from the Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty when poetry fell to a low ebb,QIAN Qianyi took the responsibility of remedying defects and rectifying errors,summarized the back-to-the-ancients ideology of literature in the Ming Dynasty,characterized by such typical cases as claiming that there was no poetry in the Song Dynasty,final judgment in old age and disputes between CHEN and AI,which represented the significant role QIAN Qianyi played in inheriting the Ming poetry and ushering in the Qing dynasty.
