Abstract
Prose poem is an exotic literary genre.During the May 4th Movement of 1919,the modern intellectuals introduce and translate a large number of prose poems from the west,and meanwhile,they try to create them actively.In this way,the style of Chinese prose poems rapidly grows up from spontaneity to consciousness.From the research perspective of translation and introduction,we can disambiguate the unique style connotation of prose poem as modernity,and reveal the mystery of growing gene acquired in the course of this foreign style and indigenous culture's mixing together as well;thereby the rheological history of modern prose poem in China can be roughly outlined.
