Acupoint Injection of Triamcinolone Acetonide in the Treatment for 35 Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease at Acute Exacerbation

Objective: To survey the influence of acupoint injection of triamcinolone acetonide on the patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) at acute exacerbation. Methods: All 68 patients were randomized into two groups, 33 cases of the control group and 35 cases of the treatment group, the control group were administered with routine treatment and the treatment group acupoint injection of triamcinolone acetonide on the foundation of the therapies given to the control group. Curative effects, the changes of blood gas analysis and pulmonary functions were observed. Results: The treatment group was higher than the control group in curative effects(P0.05); PaO2 and PaCO2of both groups were improved after treating compared with before treating(P0.05);the improvements of PaO2 in the treatment group after treating were superior to these of the control group(P0.05);The comparisons showed differences in FEV1% and FEV1/FVC% between before and after treating(P0.05), the comparison had no significant difference in pulmonary function after treating between both groups(P 0.05).Conclusion: Acupoint injection of triamcinolone acetonide is effective in treating COPD patients at acute exacerbation, it could increase blood oxygen and improve clinical symptoms of the patients.
