Abstract

Savanna is the largest biome in southern Africa which repre sents 46% of the total area. Most savanna are used for grazing mainly by cattle and goat. This paper reviews the recent researches on savanna in main aspects in cluding eco-physiology, ecosystem assesment, fire, bush encroachment, succession al dynamics, vegetation degradation and restoration, and ecosystem management st rategies.
