Abstract
The East African savannas occupy a large part of the Horn of Africa, between about 16°N and 9°S, and 34°E and 51°E. They are found in south-east Sudan, eastern and southern Ethiopia, north-western and western Somalia, most of Kenya, north-east Uganda, and the dry lowlands of north and central Tanzania ( Figure 6.1 ).
