Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical result of phacoemulsification with foldable posterior chamber intraocular lens(PC-IOL) implantation in the management of angle-closure glaucoma. Methods Angle-closure glau coma with cataract treated by phacoemulsifi cation with foldable posterior chamber intra ocular lens(PC-IOL) implantation in 27 eyes(14 cases) was studied retrospectively from Jul.2003 to May.2004,follow up of(8-20) months postoperatively. Results All cases hadn't serious complacation and vision improved. The intraocular pressure was reduced from a preoperative mean of(16.72±4.26)mm gh to a postoperative mean of(12.64±3.37) mmgh(P0.01).The peripheral anterior cham ber depth improved and anterior chamber angle open or became wider after phacoemulsi fication. Conclusions Phacoemulsification with posterior chamber foldable intraocular lens implantation can be a good alternative in treating angle-closure glaucoma with catar act.
