Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of phacoemulsification with posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation in the management of acute angle-closure glaucoma(ACG) with cataract. Methods Phacoemulsification with posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation was performed on 39 cases(39 eyes) of acute angle-closure glaucoma with cataract.The anterior chamber angle adhesion was separated by viscoelastic agent.The follow-up time was 3 months. Results The mean intraocular pressure(IOP) was(12.6±3.1)mmHg 3 months after surgery,it was decreased significantly(P0.05).The anterior chamber angles examined by gonioscopy were wider after surgery,and the extent of any touch or adhesion between iris and trabecula reduced.The central anterior chamber depth increased. Conclusion Phacoemulsification with posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation can be a good alternatives in treatment of ACG with cataract.
