The Clinical Experience of Treating AngleII~1 Malocclusion of Early Permenant Dentition with Tip-Edge Appliance

Objective To observe the clinical effects of Tip-Edge appliance in treating AngleII 1 malocclusion of early permenant dentition and discuss its mechanics.Methods Nine cases of average-aged 12.1 years old with AngleII 1 Malocclusion of Early Permenant Dentition were treated with Tip-Edge appliance. All those cases were extracted 4 premolars. The results of cephalometric measurements of pretreatment and posttreatment were statistically analysed to evaluate orthodontic effects. Results The average treatment time was 16.1 months. Overbite , overjet and molar relationship were turned to normal and lateral appearances were improved after treatment. The results of cephalometric analysis show that the changes of ANB、U1-SN and U1-L1 were statistically significant(P0.01) and the changes of SNB、MP-SN、Yaxis、U6-PP、L6-MP、ANS-Me、N-Me、S-Go/ N-Me were notable(P0.05).Conclusion Tip-Edge appliance can effectively and quickly treat AngleII1 malocclusion of early permenant dentition.
