Abstract

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy and safety of venlafaxine and fluoxetine in treating depression.Methods 85 patients with depression were randomly divided into 2 groups: venlafaxine group with 43 patients treated with venlafaxine, 25~100mg, po, bid, for 6wk; fluoxetine group with 42 patients treated with fluoxetine, 20mg, po, qd, for 6wk.Results There was no significant difference in curative effect HAMD scores before and after treatment, side function of the two groups. (P0.05).Conclusion Venlafaxine is a safe and effective drug in treating depression.
