Abstract

Three different extraction methods which heat reflux, ultrasonic and microwave extraction methods were used to extract active compounds from Magnolia officinalis. The effect of active composition and antioxidant activity with the three methods were investigated. The results showed that the extraction yields of total flavone, total polyphenol and honokiol by microwave extraction were highest. The extraction yield of magnolol by heat reflux extraction was highest. The extract had good scavenging activity on DPPH· and HO·, and the scavenging activity order of three methods was microwave heat reflux ultrasonic. The IC50 value of DPPH· and HO· scavenging by microwave extract was 0.013, 0.144 mg/mL, respectively.
