【Objective】 To investigate the effect of ginsenoside Rg3 on apoptosis of cervical cancer cells and expression of Bcl-2/bax mRNA.【Methods】 Morphologic changes of apoptotic cells were observed by optical microscope after Giemsa staining.Cell apoptosis and cell cycle was detected by cell flow cytometry(FCM).The expression of Bcl-2/bax mRNA was detected by RT-PCR.【Results】 Morphology changes of apoptosis and apoptotic body were found by optical microscope.The apoptosis percentage(AP) induced by aspirin was detected by FCM,which showed that ginsenoside Rg3 could induce cell apoptosis in a dose-dependent way.Compared with control group,cells of G2/M stage increased after treated with Rg3.Rg3 could down-regulate the expression of Bcl-2 mRNA,up-regulate the expression of bax mRNA.【Conclusion】 Rg3 can inhibit the proliferation of cervical cancer cells and induce its apoptosis,and which can induce the apoptosis of Hela cells by down-regulating the expression of Bcl-2 mRNA,and up-regulating the expression of bax mRNA.So that Rg3 has the effect of anti-neoplasma.
