Abstract
Object:To study the effects of total saponins of panax notognseng(TSP) on learning and memory ability and brain acetylcholinesterase activity in mice. Methods:Praxiology of impaired memory acquiring mice induced by scopolamine with step-down test and Y-electronic maze test and brain acetylcholinesterase activity were investigated. Results in step-down test and Y-electronic maze test,TSP(200,400mg/kg) could significantly enhance the learning and memory ability and inhibit the brain acetylcholinesterase activity compared with the model group. Conclusion:TSP could improve ability of learning and memory in mice with learning and memory impairment induced by scopolamine, and the ability may profit from its inhibition on brain acetylcholinesterase activity in mice.
