There is a considerable difference between multicultural education and ethnic minority education in China with regard to education receivers, emphasis on education methods as well as attitude and policy towards traditional cultures of ethnic minorities. However, the theory and practice of multicultural education can serve as inspiration to ethnic minority education in China in conducting multicultural education for students, stressing female education and education for students from povertystricken families.
