Abstract

Objective:To understand the immune function and sex hormone serum levels of the male with varicocele(VC) and provide reference data for the male infertility.Methods:After the spermatic and peripheral vein blood were taken from 20 cases(aged from 24～35years) with VC,immune cells and sex hormone and sperm was detected,while 18 cases married and born cases with the inguinal hernia and the same age were selected at random the countrol group.Results:The immune values of the male with VC were lower than that of the control group,the sex hormone in spermatic venous blood had significant statistic difference.Conclusion:The immune function of the male with VC is reduced,which may be one of the reasons that destroyed the blood testis barrier and damaged testis function and reduced testosterone.The concentration of serum sex hormone in spermatic venous blood might reflect the truth better.
