Abstract
Objective To understand the immune function of the children with varicocele (VC) and provide reference data for the male infertility. Methods After the peripheral vein blood were taken from 17 children (aged from 9~12 years) with VC, T lymphocyte subgroup, immunoglobulin, complements and RBC immunity were detected, while 17 healthy boys with the same age were selected at random as the control group. Results The immune values of the children with VC were lower than that of the control group. Especially, the T lymphocyte subgroup and immunoglobulin had significant statistic difference. Conclusion The immune function of the children with VC is reduced, which may be one of the reasons that destroyed the blood-testis barrier.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
